Okay, there I was again at a crossroad and didn’t know which way to turn. You see for years I searched for online business opportunities, something I could do from home. I always talked myself out of taking the risk, or I let the influence of other people effect my decision. Mostly I was afraid of what others would say in the event that I failed. I wanted more but always settled for less because it was safe. Now here I am in my fifties, both my wife and my 401k’s took a 40% whack as a result of the current economy. My wife and I are both fairly successful and make around 6 figures each but that isn’t going to matter much when it comes to retirement. We have big dreams of traveling and being able to help others that are less fortunate than we are. We keep hearing how there is time for the economy to turn around but we are not that confident it will recover enough to fulfill our retirement needs. So here we go again, its decision time and we can blame others why our 401k looks like a 101z, or we can take responsibility for our decisions and move forward with life. The truth is, for any of us, no matter where we are in life mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally, or financially it’s a direct by product of the decisions we have made in life.

Most of my life I have been programmed to believe that I should take a secure job with what is believed to be good pay, but what is truly good pay? More than ever Susan and I know that we have been severely under paid for most of our lives. Susan and I choose not to stay status quo; we finally get it and are stepping out of our programmed comfort zone and are going to do something new. We have made an investment in our future and started up an internet marketing business. We will be successful at this business because we are highly motivated and determined individuals. Failure is not an option with us and we will not quit. We did our research and what we found is a company with state of the art training resources, an incredible support team and Leaders who are truly dedicated to our development and success!

Susan and I aren’t blaming anyone for the status of our dismal retirement accounts. Maybe we are motivated because of the status of our 101z, or maybe it’s just the knowing that we have allowed ourselves to be grossly underpaid for years; we are worth significantly more than we have been earning. Notice I said “we allowed”. Susan and I are where we are because of our decisions and we are going to go new places because we have decided to think and act with a completely new mindset. If you want to break it down even further it really isn’t even” We” at all! It’s an I thing– Susan made her decisions and I made my decisions but we are going to do something new together and each of us are responsible for our own decisions!

Here is the bottom line to all of this. Always think positive and remember The Buck Stops with YOU!!! Make a choice-it’s yours to make! If you want your life to change you need to take action and make changes. If you choose not to make changes you will keep having the same results. Blame or jubilation lies in the lap of one person and that is you. Even if something unforeseen happens that is outside of your control it rests on you because you made the decision to take the route you have taken. So, before making a critical decision in life I suggest you analyze the pros and cons as well as the potential risk before you make a final decision. Think through some scenarios and consider the potential failures and the successes. Regardless of your decision it is your decision, just be willing to live with the outcome. One last point that is very important is success. Success is not measured by how much money you earn. The most successful people I know give back to the community, share their experiences with those who are less fortunate, those who have dreams and don’t know how to reach them. You too can choose to be successful, the choice is yours!
